Dear European volunteer,

Welcome in Belgium!

  • Are you looking forward to meet other volunteers?
  • Ready to explore intercultural and non-formal learning?
  • Questions about your volunteering life or your project in Belgium?
  • Curious about Belgium and the Belgian lifestyle?

On the on-arrival training (21 - 26 February 2022) you’ll find the answers! You'll learn about the framework of being a volunteer in Belgium and reflect on your learning needs for your own project. Register below to make sure you have a spot on this training. If you can't wait to meet other volunteers already, feel free to join the Corps volunteers community in Belgium on Facebook  (https://www.facebook.com/groups/escvolunteersbelgium) or subscribe for the Whats Up meet ups in various cities in Belgium (https://www.europeansolidaritycorps.be/jongeren/inschrijven-whatsup) .

We require a minimum of 2 full weeks in Belgium to take part in this training. The on-arrival training is for European youngsters that have arrived before 7 February in Belgium. If you arrive later than 7 February in Belgium, you are very welcome on our on-arrival training in June (6 - 11).

This on-arrival training is obligatory for all ESC volunteers coming to Belgium for more than 2 months.

We organize this training with a Covid Safe principle. In order to participate in our trainings, participants must take a negative Covid Self-test right before their departure to the training, be in good health and show no symptoms. On the training every 48 hours all participans will be asked to repeat the self-test. We apply this measure to ensure maximum safety for all participants included. All costs related to testing are 100% refunded after the training.

Our team includes a Corona coordinator, who applies all most recent social rules, depending on the active social rules in our Belgian society implemented by our government. We are not 100 % sure that we will be allowed to organize this training. If the Belgian government implies social rules that make it impossible to organize this training residential, it will be organized digitally (on Zoom) during the same time. Updates will follow in the last two weeks before the training.

This training is happening residential. If there is another volunteer in your host organisation, that still requires training as well, you'll join together on this training. For the volunteers who choose not to follow a residential training, a digital training will be organized in March. Please subscribe as well, you'll receive info about the dates soon.

Registrations close on the 7th of February. Once you are registered you'll receive an e-mail 2 weeks in advance of the training with more practical details about the training.

Should you or your organisation have any question, please write them in the subscription form or send an email to

We're looking forward meet you!

Greetings from the on-arrival team.
